December 16 Victory Day greetings.

‎On December 16, at the break of dawn,

‎the country rises like a flag—

‎cutting through the mist, one can hear

‎the echo of the first breath of freedom.

‎Fields, ghats, rivers, and canals have written

‎that blood mark which has not been erased even today,

‎there are no names, yet their shadows

‎silently walk beside us in the light.

‎They said, "Defeat fear,"

‎we have learned to stand tall;

‎they went on the path of no return,

‎we have learned to protect dreams.

‎Red means not just the scars of the past,

‎red means keeping the future awake;

‎green means not just the rice fields,

‎green means staying on the path of truth.

‎Today on the day of victory we pledge—

‎to love the country in the language of work,

‎against injustice, falsehood, and hatred

‎we will win in small tactics every day.

‎The liberation war has taught us to stand against injustice, to stand by the truth, and to uphold human dignity.
