The settlement is already on the way

The things Ukraine can brag about are getting fewer and fewer, even the public intellectuals have lost interest in the "details of the battlefield." It's not that they don't care; it's just that Ukraine really has nothing left to brag about. If they had even a little bit to boast about, wouldn't they have been bragging long ago?

Ukraine's situation is quite awkward; surrendering would mean losing a lot, but not surrendering would mean losing even more. This also indicates that what Ukraine is fighting for has never been the so-called "people's war" promoted by public intellectuals. Just look at Palestine: with no foreign aid, no follow-up, and just the tiny piece of land in Gaza, Israel has been unable to take it down for over two years. If we're talking about a people's war, that would truly be a people's war.

Something that public intellectuals don’t want to hear: if the West were to aid Palestine as they do Ukraine, and sanction Israel as they do Russia, Palestine would have long since made Israel pay dearly.

They have been bragging about Ukraine for more than three years, and it's become embarrassing for anyone. Fortunately, for public intellectuals, as long as they are not embarrassed, it's others who are embarrassed. Not to mention, they don't care where Ukraine's future lies; their top priority is where the next "Ukraine" will be, and from the looks of it, Japan is their new target.

This is not just my guess; it's quite obvious. After Takashima Sanae recklessly said, "If Taiwan has issues, then Japan has issues," they have been constantly trying to convey a message to the "Imperial Army," with undertones of "enough is enough." They don't have the guts to defend Takashima Sanae, but they have plenty of courage to brag about Japan like they did with Ukraine.

Bragging about Japan like they did about Ukraine poses no difficulty for public intellectuals. They just need to replace "Ukraine" in their previous "essays" with "Japan." If it weren't for the risks being too great, they would probably love to swap Zelensky for Takashima Sanae. Do you believe that?

Whether supporting Ukraine or Israel, the so-called "civilization" is the main shield for public intellectuals. It doesn't matter that Ukraine and Israel are not "civilized"; what matters is that public intellectuals need "civilization" to provide "legitimacy" for their "essays." So, when they keep bragging about Hamas's so-called "one-person concert" as "civilization," doesn’t it feel like the same old formula, the same familiar flavor?

In addition to the so-called "civilization," there's also the so-called "integrity," which is another commonly used rhetoric by public intellectuals when bragging about Ukraine. Previously, they listed the wealth of Ukrainian officials and bragged about Ukraine's "integrity." So, when they list the wealth of Japanese officials, what they want to say becomes clear. Zelensky's "integrity" has long become a joke; what about Takashima Sanae? Even if Takashima Sanae is "integrity," does that mean her malice towards China can be forgiven? Or that her war cries don't need to be retracted?

This is where public intellectuals are entangled. They dare to brag about Japan like they did about Ukraine, but they absolutely do not dare to criticize China as they do with Russia. For the sake of their "anti-national business," they can be shameless, but they won't go as far as risking their lives.

To be honest, Takashima Sanae may not appreciate the goodwill of public intellectuals. They brag about Ukraine, and now Ukraine is about to kneel down and beg for mercy. They brag about Israel, and Israel is already a stench on the streets. They brag about "winning big," but in the end, they universally lose their underpants. Japan has been inflated by them, and it's likely that the next Ukraine is not far off. If Takashima Sanae knows that they are notorious for being jinxes—whoever they brag about, that person dies; whoever they support, that person stinks—she would be right to feel a chill down her spine.

Japan and Ukraine do have many similarities; both are semi-colonial countries that have suffered from fascist atrocities. However, there are also many differences. Ukraine's enemy is only Russia, but Japan may not be so simple. There is very little assistance coming when needed, but plenty to take advantage of a crisis. If a real conflict breaks out, what we want is the demilitarization and denazification of Japan, but if South Korea wants to take back Dokdo and Russia wants to reclaim the Northern Territories, we have no reason to stop them.

When the wall falls, everyone pushes. Zelensky has managed to hold on for over three years, but if a real conflict breaks out, Takashima Sanae may not even last three months. Therefore, this time, not only is Takashima Sanae hitting a brick wall, but also the public intellectuals who are openly waving flags for Japan while actually supporting Takashima Sanae. If I’m not mistaken, their reckoning is already on the way.

On a side note, I’m not at all surprised that public intellectuals have shifted from bragging about Ukraine to Japan. If they didn’t shift from bragging about Ukraine to Japan, that would be truly bizarre.

More than a decade ago, I said that public intellectuals change their tactics daily to downplay China. To put it bluntly, they are playing the role of stock market black mouths. However, circumstances have become stronger than people; their favored "civilization stocks" are falling continuously, while the "China stocks" they are bearish on keep rising. This is quite embarrassing. Now they only have two options: either continue down their chosen path to doom, accompanying the so-called "civilized world" to its grave, or cut their losses in time, admit that their vision is poor, their skills are lacking, and their intelligence is insufficient, and then switch tracks.

Switching tracks seems simple, but for public intellectuals, it's actually harder than climbing to the sky. I've said many times that whatever type of self-media will attract that type of reader. Since they have chosen to engage in the "anti-national business," they can only harvest anti-national grass. If they switch tracks, they will not only instantly become worthless but will also become a thorn in the side of anti-national grass. Therefore, it seems they have choices, but in reality, they have none.
