Utility & Use Cases of SOMI
Gas Fees / Transaction Fees: Users pay SOMI for on-chain operations (transfers, smart contract execution, NFT minting, etc.).
Staking / Validators:
• Validators must stake SOMI (5 million tokens per node) to operate and secure the network.
• Non-node holders can delegate SOMI to validators and earn rewards (after unbonding / delegation mechanics).
Governance: Over time, SOMI holders will be able to participate in protocol governance (voting on upgrades, parameters, etc.).
Deflation Mechanism: Somnia uses a “burn + reward” split on transaction fees: 50% of gas fees are burned (i.e. removed from circulation), and the other 50% go to validators.

SOMI / USDT is a trading pair offered on multiple exchanges (Binance, KuCoin, etc.).
The live price (SOMI to USDT) fluctuates. As of the latest data:

• Other sources show similar ranges in that ballpark (roughly $0.6 to $0.8) depending on exchange and timing.
