Mike Johnson Warns The Shutdown Could Be The Longest In U.S. History. Trump administration is standing firm as the government shutdown stretches into another week, warning that this one could set RECORDS if Democrats don’t change course. During a press briefing at the Capitol, Speaker Mike Johnson made it clear that he’s NOT planning to compromise anytime soon. He claimed that Democrats are holding up negotiations with demands tied to healthcare funding, and UNLESS they step back, the shutdown will continue indefinitely. 👉 “We’re barreling toward one of the LONGEST shutdowns in American history,” describing the standoff as a “fight worth having.” 👉 Federal employees are already feeling the impact, with paychecks on pause and vital services across the country have been frozen.
