The number of millionaires and billionaires in Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies surged in the last year, with increases of 40% and 29%, respectively, according to the Crypto Wealth Report by consulting firm Henley & Partners.
Based on data up to June 30, the survey indicates the existence of around 241,7 thousand millionaires in crypto and 36 global billionaires, reaching new records of digital wealth.
According to the report, this leap is linked to the advancement of institutional adoption, marked by unprecedented events, such as the launch of cryptocurrencies by a sitting US president and by the First Lady.
Bitcoin was the great engine of this new wave of fortunes. In the last 12 months, the number of millionaires in BTC grew by 70%, reaching 145.1 thousand people. The so-called 'centi-millionaires' (with at least $100 million) and Bitcoin billionaires also recorded significant increases of 63% and 55%, respectively.
The appreciation of the largest cryptocurrency in the market explains the movement: the price of Bitcoin rose 78% in a year, reaching $112,881 on June 30, surpassing the cut-off value of the report's data by more than 5%.
Since then, BTC has continued to break records in 2025. After surpassing $100,000 for the first time in December, the currency reached its historic price of $124,128 in August, according to data from CoinGecko.

Part of this rise should be attributed to the growing acceptance of the role of cryptocurrencies in the future of finance in the United States, under the government of President Donald Trump and his more permissive approach to crypto innovation.
But the global appeal for wealth in crypto is extending beyond borders, says the report.
“While approximately $14.4 trillion in wealth crossed national borders in 2024, the entire architecture of modern finance presupposes that money has a fixed address — but cryptocurrency does not,” wrote Dominic Volek, head of the private client group at Henley & Partners.
“For millennia, storing wealth meant anchoring it to a place… today, cryptocurrency has made geography optional — with nothing more than 12 memorized words, an individual can secure a billion dollars in Bitcoin, instantly accessible from both Zurich and Zhengzhou.”
It is not only people who are getting rich with cryptocurrencies. The report also highlights the changing dynamics that agents and AI bots may have on the future of finance, citing the Truth Terminal, inspired by the cryptocurrency Fartcoin, and its path to millionaire status in 2024.
