Shock in 60 Minutes: Trump Imposes Huge Tariffs on the United States - Markets Will React!
Hey guys - what just happened in the last 60 minutes? 😅
Trump just announced a series of massive tariffs: 100% on pharmaceuticals, 50% on kitchen cabinets and bathroom tables, 30% on upholstered furniture, 25% on heavy trucks, and then said he will lower interest rates to 2%. At the same time, personal consumption expenditures (the Federal Reserve's favorite) reached 2.7%, and 2.9% for core personal consumption expenditures - the highest level since February 2025.
So... there's a big struggle here. Such tariffs mean the risk of a supply shock, and could push prices up. Personal consumption expenditures are already rising. But Trump says he will lower interest rates to 2% - between monetary policy and reality. The markets will be confused and volatile, for sure.
For cryptocurrency traders: Expect volatility. Major economic shocks typically lead to a drop in prices first, then a recycling - some money may flow into Bitcoin as a hedge, while altcoins experience volatility. It’s not a calm environment for fear of missing out, in my opinion.
