XRP Ledger hits new milestones

Ripple, the company behind the blockchain-based digital payment network, has shifted its focus to stablecoins and tokenized real-world assets (RWA) as the cornerstone of its institutional DeFi strategy. This move has quickly propelled the firm into the top ten chains by RWA activity.

Recent data shows that the XRP Ledger (XRPL) surpassed $1 billion in stablecoin transactions within just one month. Ripple is thus strengthening its role as a leader in institutional blockchain adoption.

Tokenization as the foundation of financial future

Ripple emphasizes that tokenization and stablecoins are no longer experimental. Instead, they are becoming tools increasingly used by fintech companies, banks, and asset managers. The company’s plan is to establish XRPL as the go-to platform for issuing, trading, and managing tokenized assets at scale.

A new era of XRPL features

Ripple is preparing to launch XRPL version 3.0.0, which will introduce a native lending protocol. This will enable pooled lending and underwriting directly on the ledger, fully aligned with KYC and AML regulations.

In addition, Ripple is rolling out:

  • Compliance tools – decentralized identifiers for verifying accreditation and KYC status

  • Deep Freeze function – blocking transactions on sanctioned accounts

  • Permissioned DEX and Token Escrow – giving more control while keeping the system decentralized

The company is also developing zero-knowledge proof (ZKP) technology, ensuring user privacy while allowing auditability. A key role is played by the Multi-Purpose Token (MPT) standard, which makes it possible to represent complex financial instruments such as bonds, funds, and structured products.

Growing institutional adoption

MPT is gaining traction in institutional markets as it avoids reliance on complex smart contracts and leverages metadata. Ripple also recently extended its RLUSD stablecoin to Aave’s RWA Horizon market, highlighting the expanding use of tokenized assets in regulated environments.

Additional innovations such as batch transactions, delegated rights, and extension creation help XRPL maintain low fees and fast settlement. The EVM sidechain further expands developer flexibility and supports liquidity between Solidity and XRPL.

Ripple is shaping a future where banks and asset managers can trust blockchain as a reliable solution for payments, lending, and trading of tokenized assets.
