Binance "vote to delist"
This initiative launched in April 2925.
Purpose:
* Binance wanted to involve the community in deciding which *low-quality or inactive tokens* should be removed from the exchange.
* Instead of Binance quietly delisting, they gave users the *power to vote* on coins that had low volume, poor development activity, or little real usage.
How it works???
1. Binance publishes a *list of candidate tokens* for potential delisting.
2. Users can *vote with BNB (and sometimes other means)* to either *“Keep” or “Delist”* those tokens.
3. The tokens that receive the *highest delist votes* are then scheduled for removal from the platform.
First case (April 2025)🙌🏽
* 14 tokens were removed through this system (e.g., $BADGER , $BAL , $CREAM , #FIRO , #SNT , #vidt #DAO ).
* Binance announced exact delisting dates after the votes closed.
Why it matters???
* Makes Binance more *transparent* with users.
* Helps maintain *quality listings* (strong projects only).
* Reduces *dead coins* with low liquidity on the exchange.
👉 It’s basically Binance saying: *“If the community doesn’t care about a coin, why should we keep it listed?”*
