Meme Coin ETF Era Begins 📈 – First Ever Dogecoin ETF Launches 🚀🐕 Next week, the first memecoin ETF, Dogecoin, will start. Market analysts have discussed if this would affect bitcoin and how the fund would work. First Dogecoin ETF Starts Meme Coin ETF Era Bloomberg analyst Eric Balchunas wrote on X that REX-Osprey's Dogecoin ETF (DOJE) would debut under the 40 Act, launching the meme currency ETF era. He said that this may be the first U.S. ETF to hold anything useless. The analyst highlighted that additional 33 Act DOGE ETF registrations are pending SEC clearance, indicating more meme coin ETFs. Since Dogecoin is a meme currency that started as a joke, the Bloomberg analyst said that it would be the first U.S. fund without usefulness. Balchunas doubled down on his “utility” claim in another X post, asking what DOGE's usefulness was since it began as a joke. As a proof-of-work (PoW) currency like Bitcoin, Dogecoin ETFs lack usefulness but vary from other altcoin ETFs. As such, there is no staking utility that can provide investment returns like Ethereum and Solana. This reinforces DOGE's utilitylessness. Incyt CEO Mike Maloney said Dogecoin began as a joke but has grown into a legitimate cryptocurrency with investors and engineers. Community interaction is genuine for coins and stocks, he noted. Important Dogecoin initiatives have pushed to give genuine use for the joke currency. DogeOS CEO Jordan Jefferson said Dogecoin originated as a joke and Wall Street now gets it. In an X post, Bloomberg analyst James Seyffart explained how the REX-Osprey Dogecoin ETF would work as it was registered under the 33 Act, as usual.
