France has become a "hotspot" for kidnapping and extortion using crypto

French police have just rescued a 20-year-old Swiss citizen who was kidnapped at #Valence , while also arresting seven suspects in the case. The victim was tied up and held near the high-speed train station in the city, rescued after a special operation involving 150 gendarmes.

This is the latest incident in a series of “wrench attacks” – a form of violent assault aimed at forcing victims to surrender digital assets. Security experts say France is currently the leading country in Europe for this type of crime, with at least 10 cases in just 2025, accounting for nearly 1/4 of the total cases worldwide.

Recent incidents show an increase in brutality: from finger amputations to force victims to surrender assets to attacks on the relatives of industry leaders. Not limited to France, this type of crime is spreading globally – from China, Hong Kong to Brazil – turning crypto into a "delicious bait" due to its anonymity and ease of transfer. #French

Analysts warn that many victims choose silence to protect their reputation or avoid being targeted again, meaning the actual number of cases could be much higher than statistics suggest.

⚠️ Warning: While crypto offers many financial opportunities, it has also become a target for criminals. Investors need to be cautious about securing personal information and digital assets. #anh_ba_cong
