What is Pyth?
@Pyth Network is a special system called an oracle.
Blockchains cannot see real-world prices of stocks, currencies, or goods on their own. They need a bridge.
Pyth acts as that bridge. It takes price data directly from the main sources like stock exchanges, trading firms, and financial platforms, and then sends it on-chain.
This way, apps on blockchain can use the same data that big banks and trading companies use.
Why is it Different?
Most other oracles depend on many small operators to collect data.
Pyth is different. It is first-party. That means the data comes directly from the people who create it, such as exchanges, market makers, and institutions.
No middlemen. This makes the data more accurate, fast, and trusted.
Growth and Expansion
Pyth now runs on more than 100 blockchains.
It shares over 500 real-time price feeds. These include:
Stocks like Apple, Tesla, Microsoft
ETFs such as S&P 500 funds
Indices like Hang Seng (Hong Kong)
Commodities like oil and gas
Cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana
In 2025, @Pyth Network added big updates:
US Government Data: The U.S. Commerce Department started using Pyth to bring GDP numbers on-chain.
ETFs: The world’s most traded ETFs are now available in DeFi through Pyth.
UK Equities: The top traded UK companies can be tracked on-chain.
Asia Access: Hang Seng Index data is live for the first time on a blockchain.

Why it Matters
For DeFi apps: Safer lending, borrowing, and trading because they have trusted price data
For investors: Access to real-world assets like stocks and ETFs directly inside blockchain apps
For institutions: A bridge between traditional finance and decentralised finance
Future Direction
Pyth is not just about crypto. It is building a universal price layer.
From energy markets like oil and gas, to equities, to economic reports — Pyth wants to put every price in the world on-chain.
If this vision works, developers and users anywhere can build apps that use real data without paying for expensive terminals or relying on a bank.
In short: Pyth Network is making financial data open, fair, and global.
It is one of the clearest bridges between Wall Street and Web3.
