Ukraine Moves to Legalize Cryptocurrency — First Step Approved by Parliament

On September 3, the Ukrainian Parliament (Verkhovna Rada) voted in the first reading of a bill to legalize cryptocurrencies.

According to MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak, taxation will be 18% + 5% on profit, but during the first year there will be a preferential 5% tax rate on cashing out into fiat.

It is still unclear who will act as the main regulator — the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) or the National Securities and Stock Market Commission (NSSMC).
