If quantum computers "break the Bitcoin code": What will happen?
The day a quantum computer is strong enough to break Bitcoin's encryption may still be far off, but the crypto community has already begun discussing potential responses.
🔹 Lifesaving Hard Fork: If an attack occurs, the network could #Hardfork , disable the hacked transactions, and create two chains: "Pre-Quantum BTC" and "Post-Quantum BTC." Users would still retain their coins on the new chain.
🔹 Encryption Upgrade: Bitcoin could switch to a quantum-resistant algorithm, which is currently under research. Users would need to transfer their assets to safer wallets.
🔹 Old Coins at Risk: Long-standing wallets that have previously exposed their public keys, such as the wallet of #Satoshi , risk being stolen if the owner does not act in time. Who knows, this might be the moment the mystery of Satoshi is unraveled.
🔹 "Demonstration" Attack: Previously, this may have only been for showcasing technology, but now that many countries hold Bitcoin, such actions could be seen as a challenge.
In reality, if quantum computers are strong enough to hack Bitcoin, then banks, emails, and even government data would also no longer be safe.
👉 The highest possibility: Bitcoin will be upgraded or hard forked to adapt, just like every other encryption technology that has faced challenges.
⚠️ Note: Crypto always carries risks. Investors should closely monitor technological changes and manage their assets safely. #anh_ba_cong
