Tether plans to launch USDT on RGB, expanding support for Bitcoin stablecoins
According to reports from HashChain, stablecoin issuer Tether plans to launch USDT on the RGB protocol, which is used for issuing digital assets on Bitcoin. The latest version 0.11.1 of the RGB mainnet has recently gone live. By introducing USDT into RGB, Tether aims to open a new realm of currency for Bitcoin. Users can hold and transfer USDT and Bitcoin in the same wallet, enjoying the benefits of privacy and sovereign transactions, and can even receive value offline. This initiative combines the security of Bitcoin with the stability of Tether, marking a deep integration of stablecoins into the Bitcoin ecosystem.
