Google Launches Its Own Blockchain for Global Transfers
Google Cloud has introduced Universal Ledger (GCUL), a service for fast and round-the-clock multi-currency payments. It supports built-in KYC, transparent fees, and is designed for huge transaction volumes, from retail transfers to capital market transactions.
The project is currently being tested in a closed format. GCUL is formally positioned as an L1 blockchain, but experts note that it is more like a consortium solution than a fully decentralized network.
