Foresight News reported that US Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick stated during a White House cabinet meeting on Tuesday that the Department of Commerce will begin publishing economic statistics, including Gross Domestic Product (GDP) data, on the blockchain, and may expand to all federal departments once "all details are finalized".
Previously, on August 1, Trump fired the Director of the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, Erika McEntarfer, due to the July employment report showing only 73,000 new jobs created, significantly down from previous months. Trump accused her of releasing 'manipulated' data, raising concerns among economists.
