Caldera Series (57): Protocol Integration Build Tool

Protocol integration is the entry-level play of the Caldera Metalayer. As a blogger of the ERA series, I find that using build tools for integration allows developers to quickly get started with cross-chain protocols. Metalayer provides a toolkit that includes contract interfaces and SDKs, making it easy for you to connect protocols to the ecosystem. Start by defining message components with the TypeScript SDK, then integrate the Hyperlane protocol to ensure secure message transmission. The tool also supports intent engines to help you handle routing and settlement details.

The ERA token is the core driving force of this integration. As a native token, it can be used to pay for gas during the integration process and can also participate in protocol governance, influencing tool upgrades. Recently, I helped a project integrate: creating a cross-chain DEX protocol using the build tool, requiring only the configuration of the chain ID and recipient for ERA to flow seamlessly into a unified liquidity pool. This not only improves efficiency but also lowers the development threshold, allowing more protocols to support ERA transfers.

For holders, this means an expansion of ERA's application scenarios—after more dApp integrations, the demand for the token will rise. The toolkit also includes audited templates to avoid security risks. Compared to other ecosystems, Caldera's build tools focus more on abstracting complexity, allowing you to concentrate on protocol logic. In the future, as the ecosystem grows, these tools will make ERA the preferred choice for cross-chain standards. If you want to build your own protocol, feel free to download the SDK and try the integration; it will open a new door for ERA.
