ERA Force One: A Governance Experiment
DAO governance has been criticized for being either too centralized or inefficient. Caldera's ERA Force One attempts to provide a new answer.
It has designed a ranking system that divides token holders into 10 levels, from Pilot to General. The rank is tied to token staking and is non-transferable. This means that community status cannot be bought, but is accumulated through long-term holding.
This gamified status brings two effects:
1) Tokens are harder to sell off in the short term, as selling would result in losing their rank.
2) Community participation is more active, as everyone will interact to promote their rank.
Data shows that on the first day of the ERA Force One launch, Twitter interactions surged, with related posts on Binance Square being saved over 500 times, significantly boosting community engagement.
From an investor's perspective, this governance innovation may not directly impact token prices, but it can enhance community cohesion and reduce liquidity pressure. In a market driven by liquidity and narrative, the significance of this mechanism should not be underestimated.
