In the past year, WalletConnect has made significant architectural upgrades in the server-side intermediate protocol layer, aiming to truly standardize communication between wallets and between wallets and applications. By redesigning key components such as the Relayer network, protocol configuration (e.g., Pairing/Session/Proposal), WalletConnect is attempting to achieve a new paradigm of seamless connections and permissionless calls for Dapps.
Under the trend of Web3 SuperApps and wallets as platforms, WalletConnect has launched Wallet Mode, allowing wallets to exist as Dapp containers, rather than just transaction gateways. This will enable wallets to take on roles such as browsers, information streams, and communication tools, realizing the true concept of "wallet as a portal."
On the other hand, WalletConnect is also exploring integration ideas with mainstream Web2 applications like Telegram and Discord, such as using Wallet Identity and Push notification protocols to allow users to achieve on-chain interaction notifications on familiar platforms. These attempts break down the barriers of Web3 user experience, enabling wallets to not only "connect" but also "notify," "manage," and "verify."
WalletConnect has transformed from a tool to a protocol, and from a protocol to infrastructure, becoming an indispensable underlying support in the future Web3 consumer-side scenarios. #WalletConnect @WalletConnect $WCT
