If your income is $33 a day, which is about $1,000 a month, you earn more than 80% of the world's population 👀.

According to World Bank data, this disparity is due to a large portion of the world's population living on less than $5.50 a day, with many of them living on less than $2 a day according to the World Bank's definition of extreme poverty.

The World Bank estimates that about 700 million people worldwide live below the extreme poverty line, which is less than $2.15 a day. More than 3 billion people live on less than $5.50 a day, highlighting the widening income gap globally.

Meanwhile, data from Gap Minder confirms that nearly half of the world's population has an income ranging from $2 to $8 a day, meaning that $33 a day truly places you at the top.
