In the past three weeks, I have been studying Solayer's roadmap, hoping to find the functions that can truly drive its development. The recent official timeline mentions three key phases for launch: bridge transaction fee optimization, native NFT staking protocol, and Move contract DeFi module.
The first is bridge fee optimization. This means that the cost of transferring from other chains to Solayer will be reduced, with the threshold possibly dropping from dozens of dollars to the unit dollar level. For game users, this difference is not just about price, but about the experience threshold of 'spending a day's earnings on just one play'. If bridging becomes cheaper, players can truly go on-chain daily to complete tasks and receive rewards.
The second is the native NFT staking protocol. This is not simply turning NFT locking into lending logic, but rather introducing a scarcity rating for each NFT, combined with an LTV model that allows different types of NFTs to have varying financing rates. I saw the data pushed from the testnet, where the LTV for high-quality NFTs can reach 70%, with a minimum fluctuation around 40%. This 'differentiated empowerment' will compel game developers to design more valuable digital assets, rather than just 'chibi characters'.
The third is the Move contract DeFi module. This is a supplement to Solidity, essentially allowing Solayer to support both DeFi and gaming ecosystems simultaneously, which are the two major programming languages. I personally tried it, and to be honest, it should be called 'supporting dual tracks' — attracting both financial developers and game developers to participate at the same time. Compared to most L2s that currently only support Solidity, this is a strategic advantage.
In my personal judgment, if these three functional cards can be launched on schedule, Solayer will not just be a 'vision', but an ecological layer with real potential for qualitative change. Once low-cost bridging, NFT lending value, and language compatibility expand barriers are established, retention will no longer just be a slogan, but a positive user cycle.
