Solayer: Making Your SOL Work Harder
When you stake SOL today, you’re mostly just helping secure the Solana network. That’s great, but your SOL is basically sitting still. Solayer is built to change that. It takes your staked SOL (or staking tokens like mSOL, jitoSOL, or bSOL) and lets you reuse that same stake to do more things while still earning staking rewards.
What Solayer Actually Does

Solayer gives you sSOL in return
While you hold sSOL, your stake keeps earning normal staking yield plus extra rewards from helping secure other services on Solana
Those extra services are called AVSs, short for Actively Validated Services. Think of them like add-ons: bridges, oracles, data layers. They need security, and your restaked SOL is what backs them.

The Risk Side
Nothing’s free. If the AVSs you help secure fail or the operators mess up, you could lose some rewards. There’s also smart contract risk and the usual DeFi liquidity risk. But that’s the trade-off for chasing more yield.
