๐จIndia Suspends ๐ฎ Postal Services to the USA ๐บ๐ธ
India has temporarily suspended most postal services to the USA ๐บ๐ธ as of August 25, 2025. This decision stems from a new US executive order (No. 14324) ๐ which, effective August 29, withdraws the duty-free exemption for goods valued up to $800. ๐ฐ As a result, all international postal items, regardless of value, will be subject to customs duties. ๐ธ โ ๏ธ
Air carriers โ๏ธ serving the US have expressed their inability to accept postal shipments ๐ฆ due to a lack of operational and technical readiness to comply with the new, still-undefined processes for duty collection. The suspension, which also affects other countries like France ๐ซ๐ท and the UK ๐ฌ๐ง, is a precautionary measure. However, letters โ๏ธ, documents ๐, and gift items ๐ valued up to $100 are exempt from the suspension and will continue to be delivered. The Department of Posts is working to resolve the issue. ๐
