《Caldera: Making Ethereum Scalability a Reality》

If Ethereum is the cornerstone of blockchain, then scalability is the bottleneck it cannot avoid. High gas fees and low TPS have deterred many dApps. In the past few years, Rollups have been recognized as a solution, but the problem lies in the fact that building a stable Rollup chain still has a high threshold and takes a long time.

@Caldera Official aims to make this process as simple as SaaS. Its Rollup-as-a-Service platform allows developers to 'generate' their own L2 chain with one click. Whether it's a DeFi protocol, a game, or a public chain tool, they can quickly have a high-performance, low-latency dedicated network. For development teams, this means they can focus more on the application layer instead of getting bogged down in the underlying infrastructure.

At the same time, Caldera's Metalayer design addresses another tricky issue: the island effect of Rollups. Different chains often cannot communicate directly, leading to fragmented user experiences. The role of Metalayer is to establish a universal layer that allows liquidity and transactions to flow freely between multiple Rollups. For example, the RARI Chain natively incorporates a royalty distribution mechanism within Rollups; projects like ApeChain and Kinto have also made customized optimizations under Caldera's framework, presenting diverse possibilities.

By 2025, the Caldera ecosystem will be quite substantial: 100+ Rollup chains, 1 billion USD TVL, and 1.7 million active wallets. The capital market has also given its endorsement, with firms like Sequoia and Dragonfly making early bets. Meanwhile, Caldera has launched the Catalyst program to encourage user participation in testing and dissemination, incentivizing contributors with the $ERA token. Although the airdrop distribution mechanism has been controversial, the community atmosphere is vibrant, and the ecological effect is evident.

In the long term, Caldera is not limited to EVM and is also exploring support for multi-virtual machine Rollups, such as SVM. This means it may carry broader development needs in the future, becoming a hub between different ecosystems.

In the scalability race, Caldera is not the only player, but it has lowered the entry barrier with its 'service-oriented' approach, allowing Rollups to transition from concept to large-scale implementation. This may be its greatest value.
