The largest missile strike by Russia targets a US factory in Ukraine

On August 21, 2025, Russia carried out its largest airstrike in months, hitting deep in western Ukraine. The attack involved more than 500 drones and 40 missiles, one of which struck an electronics factory owned by the United States in Mukachevo. As a result of the strike, more than a dozen workers were injured, sending a strong signal just as peace negotiations were slowly gaining momentum.

President Volodymyr Zelensky condemned the attack, calling it a deliberate strike on American civilian infrastructure in Ukraine. Analysts say timing is crucial: Moscow appears to be reminding both Kyiv and Washington that it can escalate the situation at will, regardless of current diplomatic discussions.

This strike is not only a military operation but also a political signal. The attack on the American factory directly puts Washington in the crosshairs, raising questions about how far America is willing to go to protect its presence in Ukraine. For Europe, it underscores the vulnerability of critical industries and supply chains as the war continues.
