American billionaire Elon Musk denied through platform X what the Wall Street Journal published regarding his cessation of work on the project to establish "the American Party," describing the report as "inaccurate and misleading." He added in a direct comment to his followers: "What the newspaper publishes should not be treated as fact."

Musk announced last July his desire to establish a new political party called "the American Party," in a move aimed – according to him – at breaking the dominance of the two-party system in the United States. He confirmed at that time that Bitcoin would be a key focus in his economic plans, which attracted the attention of both the developer community and investors in the cryptocurrency market.

Although his political presence remains relatively limited, Musk continues to be a focal figure. He previously participated briefly in former President Donald Trump's Efficiency Office (DOGE) before quickly withdrawing. Since then, he has not hesitated to criticize several public policies, distancing himself from traditional party institutions, but conversely opened up more space for himself to think about independent political projects.

Recently, political circles circulated news of a private meeting between Musk and U.S. Vice President JD Vance, raising speculation about the latter possibly supporting him in the 2028 elections. Although there are no official confirmations, these leaks have heightened interest in Musk's recent moves and added broader political dimensions to his denial of what was reported.

Supporters see that the "American Party" project could represent an opportunity for real change, whether by strengthening the position of Bitcoin in the American economy or by reducing the size of government and lowering public debt. In contrast, critics warn that establishing a new party will face complex procedural and legislative obstacles, in addition to regulatory challenges at the state level.

Nonetheless, both sides agree that Musk's massive financial and media influence gives him a more realistic opportunity than others to push such a project into fruition. So far, negotiations and organizational efforts related to the party are still in their early stages, while observers await any concrete steps regarding the organizational structure, leadership selection, or the beginning of preparations for running in elections.

In any case, it seems that Musk's idea of the "American Party" will remain a topic of wide discussion, adding a new chapter to the intertwined relationship between American politics, technology, and cryptocurrencies.
