TREE Series (21): TREE Token Release Logic

In the Treehouse protocol, the release logic of the TREE token is designed quite ingeniously. It is not just a simple timetable but aims to balance the long-term stability of the ecosystem with early incentives. The total supply is 1 billion TREE tokens, allocated to different groups, such as strategic investors accounting for 17.5%, the team 12.5%, and core contributors 5%, along with portions for the treasury, ecological fund, and others. The release is not done all at once but is progressive and phased to avoid excessive market fluctuations.

Take strategic investors as an example; their tokens unlock 10% after 6 months and then are released evenly over the next 30 months. This means early funds will not flood the market all at once, putting pressure on prices. The unlocking for the team and core contributors is even more cautious, starting with a 10% release after 12 months, followed by gradual unlocking over 42 months, ensuring they are motivated to invest in the project for the long term. The treasury portion unlocks after 6 months and is completed within 48 months, used to support the daily operations and upgrades of the protocol.

The community airdrop and liquidity provision portions are fully unlocked at TGE, quickly sparking user participation enthusiasm. The ecological fund and community rewards are evenly released over 48 months, encouraging continuous contributions. This logic aligns well with the real demands of DeFi, protecting investors while incentivizing developers. More importantly, the TREE token binds the interests of holders through staking and governance, allowing everyone to genuinely become part of the protocol. In the future, as the protocol expands to more chains, this release mechanism will be further optimized to ensure the steady growth of TREE's value.

In summary, the release logic of TREE resembles a marathon rather than a sprint; it creates a healthier and more sustainable ecosystem. If you are considering joining, you may want to take a closer look at the details in the white paper.
