From Spectator to Participant: My Year with @BitlayerLabs Bitlayer

At first, my understanding of Bitcoin was quite simple: it was just 'digital gold,' secure, scarce, but meant to be left untouched. Once bought, I would just wait for the price to go up or down, with no other way to play.

It wasn't until I encountered @BitlayerLabs Bitlayer that I realized BTC actually has greater potential. Last year, when I first participated in their testing, I was quite skeptical: Can Bitcoin really 'move'? After using BitVM Bridge, I discovered that cross-chain interactions are no longer the imagined risk black hole. At that moment, I felt that the financialization of Bitcoin might really be on the horizon.

Over the past year, I witnessed the growth of Bitlayer:

BitVM Bridge launched on the mainnet, bringing BTC safely off-chain;

YBTC turned BTC from merely a stored asset into one that can generate returns;

High-performance Rollup enabled developers to run more complex applications within the Bitcoin ecosystem.

From a user who only 'hoarded coins' to someone who can truly experience BTCFi within Bitlayer, I feel I have witnessed an upgrade in the narrative of Bitcoin: from 'static store of value' to 'dynamic finance.'

For me, this is not just a new investment opportunity, but a new sense of participation. Bitcoin is no longer just a number lying in a wallet, but an asset that can genuinely become a financial engine.

👉 What do you think? Is BTC still digital gold, or has it already entered a new financial era?
