【Good串习】Continue to Cultivate the Mind
People often say "live in the moment"; it is easy to say, but difficult to do. The present moment is fleeting, and the mind often struggles to find peace. Living in the moment is both a mindset and a wisdom for life.
When walking, focus on every step beneath your feet, sensing the contact between your soles and the ground, and not being distracted by wandering thoughts; with each step, you remain calm and composed. When reading, immerse yourself in the meaning of the words, deeply connecting with the content, so that you won't be distracted by other thoughts. When painting, concentrate fully on the lines and colors you are applying, allowing the creation to captivate your mind, leaving no room for unrelated thoughts. When doing housework, remain patient and focused on the task at hand, whether it is sweeping or cooking, without complaints or distractions, leading to natural emotional stability. When working, concentrate on the tasks without judgment or complaint, feeling that time passes quickly and your body and mind remain unburdened.
The mind is easily entangled by thoughts; with each breath, distractions may arise, and if not careful, one can fall into worry and anxiety. Returning to the present moment means recognizing the emptiness of these thoughts, detaching from distractions, and allowing the mind to rest.
In daily life, we should train our ability to return to the present: when noticing worry or anxiety, promptly bring your thoughts back to what you are doing at that moment; when thoughts arise, do not follow them, but focus on the present. This ability to stay in the moment and be with oneself is the most genuine wisdom in life.
