Overview of KernelDAO (KERNEL)

What is KernelDAO?

KernelDAO is a Restaking protocol aimed at enhancing capital efficiency and network security by leveraging staked assets (like ETH, BNB) for multiple purposes across the blockchain.

The system consists of three main products:

1. Kernel – A shared security layer on BNB Chain using LSTs to secure the network.

2. Kelp (LRT / rsETH) – Liquid Re-staking tools on Ethereum that allow reusing staked assets while maintaining liquidity.

3. Gain – Automated smart vaults that aggregate rewards, Airdrops, and multiple yields in a seamless interface.

Uses of KERNEL token

Governance: KERNEL holders can vote on protocol development decisions such as network expansions, fees, and Restaking strategies.

Restaking Security: where KERNEL is used as collateral against Slashing events, providing additional security for the network and joining protocols.

Rewards: incentive funds and protocol users receive KERNEL rewards for participating in the network.

Tokens, distribution, and currency launch

Total maximum supply (Max Supply): 1 billion KERNEL, and the initial circulating supply at listing was around 162.3 million units (~16.23%).

Binance Megadrop: Binance allocated about 80 million KERNEL (~8% of the total supply), half of which will be withdrawable at TGE and the other half over six months.

According to additional data from Gate.io, it was allocated:

55% for rewards and community (20% Airdrops + 35% subsequent rewards).

20% for private investors (with a lock period).

20% for the team and advisors (with lock and gradual unlock).

5% for protocol allies and marketing.

The Reddit community showed that the first Airdrop targeted Kernel point holders before the end of 2024, and the official launch (TGE) is early 2025.
