Historically, BTC has had quite a 'static' image in the crypto world—people prefer to hold it as digital gold rather than using it for anything. But BounceBit @BounceBit seems to think otherwise. They proposed a CeDeFi framework that transforms Bitcoin into an asset called BBTC, enabling it to earn yields through staking while also participating in various DeFi operations. In short, it has awakened the 'sleeping BTC.'
@BounceBit The core of the system is inseparable from their ecological token BB. It is not merely a governance token or an incentive token—$BB plays a tangible role within the entire system. Nodes need to stake BB to ensure network security, and transaction fees are also paid using $BB , along with a dual-token staking mechanism that includes BBTC, which directly raises the cost of malicious behavior. From a design perspective, BB is more like the indispensable 'blood' of the entire ecosystem, rather than just a symbol.
What I find truly interesting is the launch of BounceBit Prime. #BounceBitPrime brings institutional-grade products from the traditional financial market—such as tokenized bonds and low-volatility fixed-income portfolios—onto the blockchain. Moreover, #BounceBitPrime does not go it alone; its partners include traditional asset management giants like BlackRock and Franklin Templeton. This means that ordinary users can now access yield strategies that were previously only available to high-net-worth individuals simply by holding BBTC.
In my view, BounceBit is actually building a bridge—on one side is the compliance and trust foundation of traditional finance, and on the other side is the openness and efficiency of DeFi. It does not force a choice between the two but allows both to communicate in the same language. When discussions begin to focus on BB's 'value-added capabilities' rather than merely price fluctuations, the true value of this project may just be starting to emerge.
