Bitcoin fell to its lowest level in two weeks on Wednesday, as investors trimmed their positions ahead of the Federal Reserve's symposium in Jackson Hole, and assessed geopolitical risks with the possibility of talks between Russia and Ukraine.
The world's largest cryptocurrency traded down 1.1% at $112,870.0 at 5:15 PM Saudi time.
It was on the verge of hitting a six-week low as it dropped to $112,668 earlier in the session.
The digital currency had risen to a record high above $124,000 last week but sharply retreated after higher U.S. data eased bets on a significant rate cut by the Fed next month.
