ChainCatcher News, the founders of the American cryptocurrency exchange Gemini, the Winklevoss brothers, announced a donation of $21 million worth of Bitcoin to the Digital Freedom Fund PAC, approximately 188.4547 BTC.
The Winklevoss brothers stated that since Trump's inauguration, they have not only fulfilled the promises made during the campaign but have exceeded expectations, hoping this unprecedented progress and momentum can continue, supporting President Trump and his administration's efforts to lead America into a golden age.
The Digital Freedom Fund will focus on the following areas:
Win the midterm elections, identify and support candidates who advocate President Trump's cryptocurrency agenda in the primaries and midterm elections;
Strive to formulate thoughtful market structure legislation that solidifies the freedom for the cryptocurrency industry to thrive, and avoids overregulation, cumbersome licensing systems, and additions that only stifle innovation, expand the regulatory industrial complex, and empower 'the swamp' with unnecessary red tape;
Advocate for a streamlined market structure bill, aiming to include a Bitcoin and cryptocurrency rights bill in the legislation that explicitly states users' rights to own, self-custody, and conduct peer-to-peer (P2P) Bitcoin and cryptocurrency transactions;
Oppose Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs), and strive for legislation to prohibit Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs).
