A joint poll by Reuters and Ipsos found that most Americans are concerned about the implications of artificial intelligence, saying it poses significant risks to jobs, politics and security.

According to the survey, 71% of respondents believe that AI #Aİ could permanently put “too many people” out of work. While the unemployment rate in the United States remains relatively low (4.2% in July 2025), many are concerned about how such technologies will change jobs, industries and daily life.

It is noted that public attention to the technology has increased after the appearance of the chatbot #ChatGPT from OpenAI in late 2022. Large companies such as Meta, Alphabet and Microsoft continue to develop their own AI-based products and are constantly in the spotlight.

Some 77% of respondents fear that the technology could be used for political disinformation, including creating realistic videos of fictional events.

Respondents are also skeptical about the military use of AI. Some 48% believe that governments should never use such technology for military operations.
