Forget about the $55. Here is Polkadot's mathematical ceiling in this cycle.
Today, let's go without the snot and "finger in the sky" forecasts. Let's talk about @Polkadot Network ($DOT ) purely on maths, on what we have right now.
A lot of people are still yanking the old $55 peak, but that's a big, dumb mistake. Why? Because in '21, there were less than a billion coins. Now there's over a billion and a half in circulation. They just printed them.
And if you take that peak cap of $53 yards and divide by the current number of coins, the magic $55 turns into $33.5. That's a fair "old hai" when adjusted for inflation. It will be many times harder to get there because the value of each coin has been eroded.
Now to the calculations. I am still assuming that the entire crypto market will reach a capitalisation of somewhere around $4.5 trillion in this cycle. That's the base from which we're basing our calculations.
Let's talk about elieve that we will return to 1.77% - there are a lot of cool projects that will eat up the dominance. But I assume that on a bull Forget about the $55. Here is Polkadot's mathematical ceiling in this cycle. will be able to win back a realistic 0.67% of the market. The project is solid, the team is headstrong, so it doesn't seem inadequate.
Now for the simple maths we're here for:
Take the total market cap and multiply by our projected dominance:
1. $4.5 trillion * 0.67% = $30 billion. This is the capitalisation that I estimate Polkadot can reach.
2. Now divide that capa by the current number of coins: $30 billion / ~1.55 billion coins = $19.3 per coin.
Here's the bottom line. $19.30.
That's not a promise or a guarantee. It's a blunt figure that comes out of the calculations if my assumptions about the market and domination turn out to be correct. And that sounds a lot more realistic to me than waiting for a return to $55.
