🌐 Digital Ruble: Future Forecasts
The National Rating Agency (NRA) predicts that the introduction of the digital ruble could bring the Russian economy up to 260 billion rubles annually by 2031. In the coming years, the banking sector may face losses due to clients transitioning to new services; however, in the long term, additional revenues of 40-50 billion rubles are expected.
According to the forecast, starting from 2029, the digital ruble will evenly distribute the effect across all segments of the economy. The introduction of new tools, such as smart contracts, will help banks optimize operations and expand the range of services for businesses.
The project to launch the digital ruble has been officially approved by the President of Russia, and the first obligations will come into effect for the largest banks and retail outlets in September 2026.
