🔥 USDC vs USDT: Round 1
Today, while we were reviewing charts and the coffee was cooling down, a debate sparked with a coworker.
He backs USDT like it’s Messi in the finals.
I defend USDC with arguments, more than with habit.
And the discussion got interesting.
🔹 I go with USDC
- Because it is backed by real dollars, with audits that are not hidden.
- It is issued by Circle, regulated in the U.S. It’s not smoke, it’s reputation.
- I use it in DeFi, payments, and protocols where transparency is not negotiable.
- I prefer less volume but more security. In crypto, that saves you.
🔸 He defends USDT
- Because it has volume, liquidity, and is in all the pairs that move.
- In scalping or arbitrage, there’s no time to wait for fills.
- It’s on Tron, Ethereum, Solana… whatever you want.
- He tells me: “I prefer speed, I don’t care much about backing.”
Who wins?
It depends on the game.
- If you’re looking for speed and liquidity: $USDT .
- If you prioritize reputation and real backing: $USDC.
What’s important is not to trade out of habit. Each stablecoin has its role, and understanding it can make the difference between a profitable trade and a bad decision.
