The lion's share of gambling members of the cryptocurrency community believe that the price of Ethereum is likely to reach a barrier of $5,000 in 2025. On the Polymarket platform, the probability of the ETH price rising to $5,000 is estimated at 70%. A winning pair on this event will bring a profit of 42.7%, while a successful bet on the opposite outcome will allow capital to multiply more than three times. The chance that the price of Ethereum will reach higher levels is, of course, lower. For example, the price of ETH is expected to increase to $6,000 with a probability of 44%, and to $7,000 - 27%.
On August 14, the price of ETH almost updated its historical maximum, rising to $4,797, but then a correction began, as a result of which the cryptocurrency dropped by 11%. Considering the current situation in the market, analyst Michael van de Poppe predicts the continuation of the downward trend and a drop in the coin's price to $4,108. Currently, ETH is priced at $4,320, meaning the price could fall by 5%. If geopolitical factors play against Ethereum, as Michael suggests, the price of the altcoin could drop even lower - to $3,941. He plans to buy coins at these levels, expecting to earn a profit during the resumption of the bullish rally. Therefore, van de Poppe's bearish forecast does not exclude the possibility of reaching $5,000 in 2025.
