BlockBeats news, on August 18, the U.S. listed company BitMine Immersion Technologies announced today that its total cryptocurrency holdings exceed $6.612 billion. As of 11:59 PM Eastern Time on August 17, the company held 1,523,373 ETH (at a unit price of $4,326, data source Bloomberg) and 192 BTC.
BitMine Chairman and Fundstrat analyst Thomas Lee said: "In just one week, our ETH holdings increased by $1.7 billion to $6.6 billion (an increase of 373,000 coins, with total holdings rising from 1.15 million to 1.52 million), which confirms institutional investors' support for our '5% Ethereum strategy.' As we have always emphasized, whether it is the net asset value growth per share of crypto assets or stock liquidity, BitMine is leading the development of institutional holdings in crypto assets."
BitMine is now the world's largest institutional holder of Ethereum and the second largest institutional holder of cryptocurrency, second only to Strategy Inc (MSTR), which holds 628,900 BTC (worth $74 billion).
