$BTC Metaplanet Inc., listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE Standard 3350), announced on August 18, 2025, the purchase of 775 Bitcoins at an average price of ¥17,720,023 per unit, totaling ¥13.733 billion.
With this acquisition, the company reaches a total of 18,888 BTC in treasury, with an average cost of ¥15,041,118 per unit, representing a total investment of ¥284.07 billion yen.
In addition to expanding reserves, the company highlighted performance indicators such as BTC Yield, which measures the percentage change between the Bitcoins in custody and the outstanding common shares. Between July 2024 and September 2024, the BTC Yield was 41.7%; in the following period, from October to December 2024, it reached 300.8%; from January to March 2025 it reached 95.6%; and from April to June 2025, 129.4%. Most recently, from July to August 2025, it stood at 29.3%.
Metaplanet's strategy reaffirms the path initiated by large corporations, such as MicroStrategy, which see Bitcoin not only as a speculative asset but as a corporate store of value. This movement reinforces the global trend of publicly listed companies diversifying part of their assets into cryptocurrencies, leveraging the appreciation potential and decentralization of BTC.
