Token unlocks and key proposals: ZRO, FTN, and LayerZero in focus
1. Acquisition proposal of Stargate by LayerZero
LayerZero proposed to acquire the Stargate bridge (STG) for $110 million, offering to dissolve the Stargate DAO and unify governance under LayerZero. The proposal includes an exchange of 1 STG for 0.08634 ZRO.
This results in improvements in operational efficiency, consolidation of the ecosystem, and the possibility of redirecting Stargate's revenue towards ZRO buybacks, thereby reducing its circulating supply.
Following the announcement, ZRO rose more than 20-26%, reaching $2.30-$2.50, while STG increased by about 15-20%.
2. Upcoming unlocks of ZRO and FTN
The next unlock of ZRO is scheduled for August 20, 2025, releasing approximately 8.53% of the circulating supply (~$56 million USD in value).
In June, there were significant token unlocks: LayerZero (ZRO), Fasttoken (FTN), Arbitrum (ARB), and others amounted to over $230 million USD. Nevertheless, FTN managed to remain stable, showing resilience against the increased supply.
What does all this mean? Is it positive?
Ecosystem unification : The Stargate → LayerZero merger simplifies the structure and can generate efficiency
Token unlocks: Can increase supply and generate selling pressure, although this does not always happen if there is strong demand
Bullish momentum (ZRO & STG): The recent rally shows that the market views the merger plan positively
Long term: Reduction of ZRO supply with Stargate revenue buybacks may support its price
The merger proposal between LayerZero and Stargate is seen as a strategic advancement: it centralizes governance, reduces complexity, and may maintain momentum in ZRO.
The upcoming token unlocks, especially of ZRO, are a technical factor to watch, as they may influence market pressure.
The effect of these measures depends on the perception of value and demand. If the community approves the proposal and the ecosystem strengthens.
