🔥 The Ronin network, originally created as a sidechain for Axie Infinity, has officially announced its transition to a full-fledged Layer 2 on Ethereum.
📢 According to Sky Mavis, the main goals are to enhance security, reduce costs, and leverage the capabilities of the "new era of Ethereum," which is once again perceived as a fast and scalable foundation.
🕓 The launch of the new Ronin is scheduled for the first half of 2026. The tokenomics will be updated based on the Proof of Distribution principle, but RON will retain its role as a gas token. The rewards will go to active developers whose projects generate TVL, fees, and off-chain influence, rather than to passive validators.
