Trump Urges Zelensky to “Make a Deal” with Russia, Calls Moscow a “Very Big Power”.

During a post-summit interview following his meeting with Vladimir Putin in Anchorage, Alaska, President Donald Trump advised Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to negotiate directly with Russia, stating, “Russia is a very big power. And Ukraine is not.”

Trump described his nearly three-hour meeting with Putin as “extremely productive,” but confirmed no concrete agreements were reached regarding the war in Ukraine. He suggested that Ukraine take the initiative to negotiate a peace deal.

The comments sparked criticism from Ukrainian officials, who insist that any talks must respect Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. President Zelensky has affirmed Ukraine’s willingness to negotiate, but any agreement must protect the nation’s borders.
