U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin held a nearly three-hour summit in Alaska on Friday to discuss the war in Ukraine. While both leaders described the talks as “very productive” and “constructive,” no formal agreement was reached to end the conflict.
Trump said many points were agreed upon, but a few major issues remain unresolved. He emphasized, “There’s no deal until there’s a deal,” adding that he will soon speak with NATO and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
Putin echoed the need to ensure Ukraine’s security and said Russia is ready to work toward ending the war, though he stopped short of announcing a breakthrough. Concluding the event, Putin invited Trump to meet “next time in Moscow.”
