P2P Scam Scene in Pakistan
P2P payment means transferring money directly from one user to another, like EasyPaisa, JazzCash, Sadapay, NayaPay, or Binance P2P exchanges.
This method is quick but the risk of fraud is higher, as the payment is direct — there is no guarantee in between.
Common P2P Scam Methods in Pakistan
Fake Proof of Payment
The scammer sends you a modified screenshot as if the money has been sent.
The original transaction does not exist, or is pending.
It is mainly on Binance P2P or in Facebook groups.
Stolen Bank Accounts / Mobile Wallets
The scammer sends money from a hacked account.
Later, the real owner files a complaint → the bank or wallet freezes your account until the investigation.
Return Scam
After receiving the payment, the scammer files a fraud complaint with the bank or wallet and recovers the money.
It is mainly at Meezan, HBL, Easypaisa, JazzCash.
Underpaid Transfer
The agreement is for 100,000 PKR, but he sends 99,000 and asks to give the rest in cash.
According to P2P platform rules, you should not release until full payment is received.
Third-Party Payment Fraud
The scammer has money sent from a third party to your account.
Later, this person files a complaint and your account becomes suspicious (risk of Money Laundering).
Main Targets of P2P Scam
Binance P2P Traders (crypto buyers/sellers)
Facebook/WhatsApp trading groups
Freelancers who receive directly via EasyPaisa/JazzCash
OLX and Marketplace Sellers
Tips for Bachne
Only do business with verified buyers/sellers (those with good feedback on the platform).
After receiving the payment, wait at least 1-2 hours to reduce the risk of return.
Never share your CNIC copy, OTP, or account access.
If a third party's name appears on the account statement, cancel the agreement.
Always use the P2P platform chat and the dispute system.
