Pakistan is set to launch its Digital Pakistani Rupee by 2025, partnering with Japan’s Soramitsu to use Hyperledger Iroha tech. The CBDC will enable secure, scalable, and even offline payments, backed by the Virtual Assets Act 2025. Targeting 250M+ citizens and a $400B economy, it aims to cut cash costs, boost inclusion, attract investment, and position Pakistan as a regional fintech leader.
