😲P2P Scams in Pakistan 🧐– My Take

These days, P2P (Peer-to-Peer) payments are pretty common in Pakistan. This means one person directly transfers money to another person, using services like EasyPaisa, JazzCash, SadaPay, NayaPay, or Binance P2P trades. It’s fast, but the risk of scams is high because there’s no middleman or guarantee in between.

Common P2P Scam Methods in Pakistan

1. Fake Proof of Payment

Some people send you an edited screenshot to make it look like they’ve sent the money, but in reality, the transaction never happened or is still pending. This is very common on Binance P2P or Facebook trading groups.

2. Stolen Accounts

Sometimes money is sent from a hacked bank or mobile wallet account. Later, the real owner files a complaint, and the bank/wallet freezes your account until the investigation is complete.

3. Reversal Scam

After you receive payment, the scammer files a fraud complaint with the bank or wallet and gets the money reversed. This is especially common with Meezan, HBL, EasyPaisa, and JazzCash.

4. Underpaid Transfer

For example, the deal is for 100,000 PKR but the buyer sends 99,000 PKR and says they’ll give the rest in cash. According to P2P rules, you should never release until you’ve received the full payment.

5. Third-Party Payment Fraud

The scammer uses someone else’s account to send you money. Later, that person files an FIR, and your account gets flagged for money laundering risk.

Main Targets of P2P Scammers

Binance P2P traders (crypto buyers/sellers)

Facebook/WhatsApp trading group members

Freelancers receiving EasyPaisa/JazzCash payments

OLX and online marketplace sellers

My Personal Safety Rules

Only deal with verified traders who have good feedback.

After receiving payment, wait at least 1–2 hours to reduce reversal risk.

Never share your CNIC copy, OTP, or account access.

If a third-party name appears on the payment, cancel the deal immediately.

Always use the P2P platform’s chat and dispute system for records.
