According to Foresight News, the Cardano Foundation's DRep has changed its vote to "in favor" of a proposal to allocate 605,000 ADA for a free native asset content distribution network (CDN) for developers. Initially, the vote was "against" due to financial concerns, but additional information from the NFTCDN team has addressed these issues.
The proposal aims to provide all Cardano developers with 18 months of free native asset CDN services, alleviating the high costs developers face. The NFTCDN team has presented a clear budget for salaries and infrastructure costs. During the 18-month strategic period, data will be collected to allow DReps to vote on three sustainable future paths: open-source, decentralized, or transfer to a non-profit organization.
Due to the lack of an appropriate funding category within Project Catalyst for such infrastructure projects, the treasury withdrawal process was chosen. The DRep considers this proposal a reasonable and strategic public infrastructure investment, offering long-term sustainability and immediate value.
