• Core Positioning: Bitlayer is the first Bitcoin Layer 2 built on the BitVM paradigm, designed to solve Bitcoin’s scalability limits while inheriting its security—positioning itself as Bitcoin’s computation layer.
• Technical Breakthroughs:
• Combines a Layered VM with Zero-Knowledge Proofs (ZKP) and Optimistic Verification (OP) to enable Turing-complete computation.
• OpVM Verification Scheme (Core of V2 Mainnet): Merges Fraud Proofs (BitVM) with Validity Proofs (based on OP_CAT), enabling Bitcoin Layer 1 to directly verify complex computations without requiring protocol changes.
• Dual-Channel Cross-Chain Bridge: Uses OP-DLC and BitVM bridge for bi-directional asset locking with Layer 1–equivalent security.
Technical Evolution Roadmap
• Mainnet V1 (Live): Supports basic smart contracts and DeFi applications.
