BINANCE LOGO
Binance logo was created with a thoughtful design process that connected deeply to the company's identity and vision. The name "Binance" comes from "Binary Finance," which inspired the design of the logo to incorporate binary and trading elements.
Here is how the Binance logo was created:
Initially, the design team aimed to symbolize the bids and asks on the exchange using two squares, reflecting the trading dynamics.
At first, they placed one square on top of another, which resembled the digit "8," a lucky number in Chinese culture, but they did not find the result suitable.
The designer, Tang, then proposed variations, including two diagonal overlapping squares, which symbolized the overlap between bids and asks, representing a trade.
They then placed these two small overlapping squares on a larger square, symbolizing the exchange as a "playground" for trading.
To strengthen the logo visually, the designers thickened the lines of the squares, resulting in a more balanced and solid appearance.
The thick lines created three smaller blocks in the center, symbolizing a blockchain and trades.
The logo is perfectly balanced both horizontally and vertically, emphasizing fairness and symmetry, which aligns with the core values of an exchange.
The final logo features two overlapping squares skillfully constructed on a 7x5 grid, with careful attention to geometric details, such as the rotation of a square to fit perfectly within the white space, adding uniqueness.
Additionally, the co-founder and CEO of Binance, Changpeng Zhao (CZ), shared a story about getting tattoos of the Binance logo with friends to demonstrate their commitment, showing the deep personal connection to the brand.
This design reflects both Binance's identity as a binary finance platform and the nature of trading, represented symbolically through the geometric shapes and the overall balanced structure of the logo.
